And although the products Hobbs Medical supplies were originally engineered for the medical industry, it wasn’t long before we realized some of them could be modified for use in other industries.
Our looped retrieval devices are a prime example.
Designed for endoscopy use, they’re typically used to retrieve foreign objects from bodies, but we also offer similar, industrial retrievers for use in other industries to retrieve objects that are difficult to reach.
Instead of an integrated endoscope, these industrial retrievers have a special coil to maintain their rigidity. No scope is required because they go into such narrow channels within aircraft or automotive engines. They’re designed to retrieve small parts inside the engines, like lost nuts or bolts. The automative and aerospace industries use them to grab small parts they wouldn’t otherwise be able to reach without disassembling an entire system.
Hobbs’ custom industrial looped retrievers come with a spring-loaded handle for maximum retention and can be used in channels as narrow as 2.8 mm.
Our non-medical users might be able to find similar retrieval devices on consumer websites, but these mass produced devices aren’t customizable, and the quality is inconsistent. Hobbs Medical, however, is ISO 13485 certified. Every product we provide is produced under these strict quality guidelines, which exceed ISO 9001 standards.
